Alexis Perez
Please meet Alexis Perez! Alexis received her bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Montevallo and is currently working on her master’s in social work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Right after graduating, she jumped right into the field, starting as a CAN social worker with DHR. Later, she transitioned to SafeHouse of Shelby County, where she worked with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. In addition to her impactful social work career, Alexis also runs her own business, specializing in cake decorating and event planning!
Alexis is the youngest of four siblings, and while she jokes that she never got away with anything, her family holds a special place in her heart.
She’s excited to be working with ELI and learning even more about how to support the community and the families ELI serves. Alexis loves the impact that ELI has and is thrilled to be part of such meaningful work.
When it comes to travel, her favorite passport stamp is from a trip to Israel, an experience she cherishes. She’s also a night owl who enjoys coffee sometimes and finds fulfillment in being a support system and making a difference in people’s lives.
Fun fact: When Alexis was younger, she thought she would grow up to be a pediatric nurse!
