Candice Forbes
Candice or Candi as we like to call her has been a Board Member with ELI for some time now. She has specifically worked with the Nutrition Program at Barrett Elementary for 4 years which fits her skill set perfectly. Candi is an awesome cook even some would say superhero status. Actually, if she were a superhero, she would want to cook home-cooked meals for everyone in a community every day!
Candi has a BS in Applied Mathematics from Auburn University. Interestingly enough she wanted to be a football player when she was younger and was rarely separated from her Auburn Football jersey. While she didn’t grow up to play on the plains she has and does wear many hats. Some of those hats have included working in operations and technology, consulting, volunteering and motherhood! Candi has been married to her husband, Mallory, for 26 years and they have a son, Alex, who is a freshman at Furman University after graduating from Indian Springs School.
She loves that ELI walks alongside families to provide a helping hand toward change. love the smiling faces of mothers who are carrying less stress by being yoked with someone to help carry the burdens as they step forward more confidently.
“The most inspiring part of volunteering is being close to where you make a difference. There is immediate gratification in seeing smiling faces that know they are loved after eating something you have cooked.”
