Liz Holcombe

Please meet Liz Holcombe! Liz is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at The University of Alabama and will graduate in May 2025. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Addiction and Recovery from the same university in 2020. Liz has an impressive background, having worked as an assistant counselor at Bradford Health Services and later as a program coordinator at Alsana: An Eating Recovery Center.

Liz comes from a family of three sisters and is the proud middle child. Her parents filled her childhood with love and support, and that foundation continues to shape her today. She shares her home with two beloved pets—Petunia, her cat, and Chandler, her dog. Liz has also been with her partner, Cole, for four years, and she considers him an essential part of her life and who she has become.

Though Liz has only been interning with ELI for a short time, she's already felt at home. She’s been touched by the warmth and kindness that radiates from both the staff and clients. Liz loves how ELI provides a space where people can not only grow but truly thrive. The sense of community here is unmatched, and Liz has appreciated the unwavering support from her colleagues, which she says has been like no other experience she’s had.

A self-confessed coffee snob, Liz has not one, but three coffee machines at home. She even makes her own creamers and syrups! And while she may have only been at ELI for a little while, Liz is already seeing the incredible impact she can make on others' lives. She’s passionate about the simple yet profound ways we can ease someone’s burdens, whether it’s through a kind word or lending a hand.

Fun fact: Liz's celebrity doppelgänger is none other than Taylor Swift! Between the blonde hair, bangs, and love for cats, Liz jokes that maybe she just wants to be Taylor when she grows up.
