Michael Wilson

Meet Board Member Michael Wilson. Originally from south Alabama, Michael attended Birmingham-Southern College, where he played tennis and earned his degree in business before completing a master’s in real estate at Georgetown University. He currently works in the investments group at Protective Life Insurance Company, financing commercial real estate projects across the country. He and his wife, Caroline, have two children and are excited to welcome another little one soon.

Michael was first introduced to ELI Thrive through Redeemer Community Church in Avondale. Through that connection, he saw firsthand the work God is doing in and through ELI to support families and strengthen communities across Birmingham. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside the ELI Thrive team and contribute to the mission of empowering families for lasting impact.

When he’s not working or chasing little ones, Michael enjoys coffee (especially in large quantities, thanks to life with young kids), early mornings, and anything related to tennis. His favorite travel memories include London—where he attended Wimbledon and witnessed the longest match in tennis history—and Paris, which he visited with his wife.

Michael is especially inspired by seeing how thoughtful development can transform neighborhoods and create new opportunities for families—one of the many reasons he is passionate about ELI Thrive’s work in Birmingham.
