Myron Thomas-Chief Operating Officer
Myron was born in Leesville, Louisiana and raised in Athens, Georgia. Myron worked in various positions of leadership while serving in the Air Force for 21 years and retired at Maxwell Air Force Base in October of 2015. He began working for Hope Inspired Ministries in August of 2016 and served as the Site Director at the HIM site in Birmingham until November 2020. Afterwards, Myron joined the ELI Thrive team and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer. Myron holds a B.S. Degree in Biblical Studies from Point University and ministry certification in Pastoral Leadership from Highlands College. Myron has a passion to see people live out their God-given potential.
Myron is married to Jessica Thomas and they have three wonderful children. Myron Jr is the oldest and is currently serving in the United States Air Force. Mya is their second oldest child and she is studying Chemistry at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Coleman is in the 4th grade and loves school. His favorite subjects are math and science. Myron and his family are members of the Church of the Highlands and they serve at the Grandview Campus.
One of Myron’s love languages is traveling and trying different cuisines. His favorite passport stamp is Afghanistan. He enjoyed seeing the beautiful snow-capped mountains while deployed to the region in 2013. Myron is an early bird by nature and considers himself a coffee person as well. He loves trying out local coffee shops in the Birmingham area and includes coffee stops in his travel plans. When he was 5, he was pretty sure he would be a Toys R Us kid. His Toys R Us dreams didn’t work out, but he does consider himself to be a kid at heart. If he were a superhero, his superpower would bring healing to people’s hurts and wounds. The most inspiring part of working at ELI is helping people live out their God-given potential.
