Introducing ELI Thrive’s Junior Board of Directors
We’re excited to launch the Junior Board of Directors at ELI Thrive—a new group of passionate young professionals stepping in to support and strengthen our mission across Birmingham.
Last week, we got a glimpse of what’s ahead. Thirteen young professionals from across the city gathered at House 11 on Thursday, April 30 to learn more about this new opportunity. The energy in the room was real—and it’s clear this group is bringing fresh momentum to ELI. We’re especially excited about the opportunity to expand awareness of ELI into new circles and grow support in meaningful ways.
The Junior Board is designed to do two things at the same time: meet real, immediate needs within ELI and build a strong pipeline of future leaders, donors, and ambassadors who are invested in the long-term impact of our work. Members will play an active role in supporting events, expanding volunteer engagement, and helping introduce new individuals, churches, and corporate partners to ELI.
This group will serve as a bridge between ELI and the broader Birmingham community—raising awareness, creating connections, and inviting others into meaningful service and generosity.
Junior Board members will take on hands-on responsibilities like leading event committees, recruiting volunteers, serving at key ELI events, and supporting fundraising efforts. Each member will also contribute by personally giving or helping secure donations to further the mission.
The board will launch with an initial cohort of 10 members, primarily young professionals ages 21–35, serving two-year terms. Members will meet quarterly, with additional involvement around events, and will help host at least one signature event each year.
At its core, the Junior Board is about building momentum—mobilizing the next generation to not just support the work of ELI Thrive, but to help carry it forward.
