Help our Families shop!
Once a month, we host a “Shopping Sunday” for our ELI Thrive families. This special event gives families the opportunity to shop in our food market, allowing them to use the money they would have spent on groceries for another important part of their budget.
During Thrive Sunday, volunteers like you play an essential role in making this experience meaningful and smooth. You’ll help guide families through the market, using our easy-to-follow chart that outlines how many items they can select from each section. As you shop together, you’ll assist them in bagging their groceries and loading everything into their car.
Before families arrive, we’ll review all the details so you feel completely comfortable with the process. If there’s a pause between shoppers, we use that time to restock shelves and keep things organized.
It’s always a fun, rewarding time to connect, serve, and get to know one another while making a real difference in our community.
*Please arrive at 6523 First Avenue N Birmingham, AL 35206 around 1:30 for a tour and instructions. Wear comfortable clothing. We usually finish up before 4pm.
